VANCOUVER—Electronic cigarette maker Juul Labs has plans to convert Canada’s five million adult smokers to loyal vapers amid a storm of controversy in the U.S. for its addictive qualities and youth appeal that’s leaving a sour taste among health workers and youth groups in Canada.
The design and experience of vaping one of Juul’s pods, which contains 5 per cent of nicotine is meant to mimic the experience of smoking a conventional cigarette, Nederhoff added. Vaping one pod, which will retail $21, is the equivalent of smoking a pack of cigarettes in nicotine level.
